European Diploma in Internal Medicine 2008
The written examinations for achieving the European Diploma in Internal Medicine took will be held on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th December 2008. Closing date for receipt of applications: Friday 19th September. You may sit the exam in Athens, Istanbul, London or Prague. The 3rd EFIM Young Internists Day, ROME 2008
The 3rd Young Internists Day was held in May 8th, during EFIM 7 at Rome. The meeting included discussions on residency programs across Europe, pan-European surveys, and more, with the participation of more than 50 young physicians. A clinical gymnasium presenting various clinical cases from all over the continent was held, with excellent clinical discussion and meticulous monitoring from our Italian hosts. EFIM Young Internists Subcommittee
The Young Internists Workgroup of EFIM has recently been officially announced as the first subcommittee of EFIM. This decision was approved by the EFIM Executive committee. Dr Mine Durusu Tanriover will chair the subcommittee with Dr Roger Duckitt as the committee secretary. Nominations to the Editor of the subcommittee's website and to the working-groups towards Rome 2008, European Exchange Program and research projects were also made.

EFIM Clinical Research Seminar IV was once again held in Paris. For the fourth consecutive time, it is now clear that this course has become a success both academically and socially. 14 young internists from 10 countries around Europe sat around the table for three days and nights. European work-exchange program
At ESIM-10 in Portugal there was active discussion and strong support for a European work-exchange program. EFIM has established a working group to review the current status of the European Exchange Program and to develop it further with input from the Young Internist group. If you are interested in such an exchange program or have any experience of your own, please share it with us as we will all benefit from the knowledge and contacts that we have acquired.

The 2nd Young Internists Day of EFIM was held during the 6th EFIM
Congress in Lisbon. Hosted by the Portuguese Young Internists Group, a
